Here is the hero himself, Ron Kaehr, who has come to the rescue of the Knight. (There`s a switch for you!) He is pictured with two of his grandchildren, Opal and Walker. They attended the Open House June 7, 2012 when visitors were able to see both the old and new schools.

Laurel Hoffman Moore found this photo in her Cheerleader Scrapbook from 1967. We were thrilled to see it as the Knight had to be brand new and you can pretty clearly see the original colors. Ron now has this photo and says it will help greatly when it gets to the time to repaint.

The new sub-base from the front. Because of instability, this will be bolted to another structure or onto a concrete base. After a truncated pyramidal cover is placed over it, the knight will be lowered into the two steel wells.
